Start Your Career with the Housing Service
We are currently advertising several exciting apprenticeship roles at level 2 and level 3. We are wanting to reach out to our tenants and their families to promote these opportunities, so that we can create a workforce representative of our customers.
An Apprenticeship is a great way to start your career. You will receive on the job training, as well as working towards a qualification in your chosen field, all while earning a generous apprenticeship salary. On successful completion, applicants will gain employment within your trained role.
Benefits
At Sheffield City Council, we value our apprentices highly and recognise the importance of developing a skilled workforce, and this is reflected in the fantastic benefits we offer!
Flexible Working
You will be given the freedom to manage your own hours, so your work schedule can work for you. You can also build up your hours and claim them back as additional leave!
You will also be given the option to purchase additional Annual Leave, for a small deduction from your wages, should you chose to do so.
A Good Wage and Bonuses
Any first year Apprentice, regardless of age, will earn £10.80 per hour, which will increase in your second year. As well as this, on a successful completion of your 6 month probation period, you will receive a bonus of £400
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will be offered a fully-paid role – salaries start at £24,790 to £29,093 depending on the grade. The Council also offers a generous pension scheme.
Training and Development Opportunities
Within the Council, there are always plenty of opportunities for further training and development, with a variety of education and training courses running year round.
