Thousands of people gathered at Fargate for a VE Day Victory Parade in 1945
Next Thursday (8 May) marks 80 years since the end of World War Two in Europe. Get involved to celebrate and learn more about VE Day.
A series of evening talks from authors and historians at Central Library give you the chance to learn more about WW2 and Sheffield’s contribution to the war effort.
Over the Summer there will also be a major display in the Central Library foyer showing the impact of the war on different communities in Sheffield.

These will explore Sheffield’s rich musical and social histories, covering pirate radio, the coal dispute in South Yorkshire and the history of Black music.

Also enjoy a ceilidh, a traditional Scottish and Irish gathering featuring dancing, music and more, from Ceilidh Society!

Take part in a fun fancy dress 5K run for runners of all abilities. This event supports St Luke's Hospice.
The event village will be running throughout the day, offering live music, mini games, plus food and drink.
