New Grant Scheme launched for tenant-focused projects in the north east of Sheffield!
Do you have a great idea for a local community project to benefit council tenants in the Burngreave, Firth Park, Shiregreen & Brightside, or Southey wards? If so, you might be able to get funding to help bring your idea to life!
Housing Advisory Panel Residual Levy Grants
Our Housing Advisory Panels (HAPs) bring together local tenants and councillors to discuss and resolve local issues, and they also manage the HAP Residual Levy Fund – a grant scheme designed to support community projects that benefit council tenants living in the north east of the city.
The funding comes from the Residual Levy, which is tenant-levy money collected from council tenants who don’t currently have a local Tenants and Residents Association (TARA) to represent them.
Who can apply?
Local voluntary organisations, self-help groups, and community organisations that aim to improve the community for council tenants who aren’t already covered by a TARA.
How much funding is available?
Grants of up to £2,499 per project are available.
Where is the funding available?
Right now, the fund is being trialled in the north-east area of Sheffield, in the Burngreave, Firth Park, Shiregreen & Brightside, or Southey wards.
If the trial is a success then we hope to roll it out across the city in the future.
When to apply?
The first round is open now, with an application closing date of 1st June 2025 by 12 midnight.
