Our Garden Competition is returning this year!
It’s the time of year where we think about getting outdoors as warmer days approach. So get ready to showcase your gardening skills and creativity! We are excited to announce the return of our annual garden competition.
The Green Space Awards will bring a splash of colour to your neighbourhood, offering something for everyone. From a pot by your front door to a shared green space or having your own garden space, no matter how big or small - if this is your creation, your efforts, then we want to celebrate them.
When the Awards are launched you will be able to tell us about the green space you look after and why it is important to you. There will be 2 categories: best garden space and best small space (including baskets, tubs and balconies). There will be an award of up to £100 of shopping vouchers in each category .
Entries will be independently judged and winners announced later in the year. We are busy in the background getting things ready to receive your entries, but wanted to let you know so you can start to plan.
Gardening can be a great way to get close to nature, it can be a social experience in a shared space or an escape from a busy lifestyle. Gardening is great for physical and mental health. No matter how much experience you have; this award is designed for every SCC tenant to be able to take part.
The awards will be judged on how you use the space you have, to brighten your local community and what it means to you. We are also interested in how your space helps the wider environment either by using recycled materials or encouraging bees or insects to visit.
