The PA champion project is a citywide initiative funded by Sheffield City Council and delivered by Embrace with the goal of raising awareness of the role of Personal Assistants, and creating a peer support network for anyone working as a Personal Assistant in Sheffield.
Personal assistants provide vital support for people with disabilities and additional needs, supporting them in living fulfilling and independent lives. An often overlooked and undervalued role, working as a PA makes a tangible difference to the lives of those in need of that bit of extra help.
PA champions, Seirian and Hannah, are working across the city to build links with schools, colleges and universities, as well as working in partnership with the DWP and local communities, organisations and events to raise the profile of PA'S and the vital work they do.
To find out more about the project and to register as a PA champion please visit the website.
Dates to remember...
If your child is moving between phases of education you must apply for their school by the following dates:
-
Nursery to Primary / Infants 15th January 2025
-
Infants to Juniors 15th January 2025
-
Secondary to Post 16 - 31st January 2025
If your child is moving between phases and has an EHC Plan, you should have already received a letter from SENDSARs (SEND statutory assessment and review service) and given you parental preferences. If you haven’t received this or not yet given in your preferences the deadline has now passed but please call 0114 2736394 SENDSARS to discuss.
