Happy Halloween! It's a busy time of year for events so let's dive in to this week's newsletter and see what's happening over the next week.
Illuminate the Gardens returns this weekend
A magical night out for the whole family, set amongst the beautiful surroundings of Sheffield Botanical Gardens.
There will be more than 10 light installations around the gardens, with a mesmerising laser show from the landmark glass pavilions, a 'low bangs' fireworks display and an exhilarating main display.
Enjoy delicious street food, drinks, free kids' activities, fairground rides and more.

It's the 20th anniversary of the society's annual Perspectives exhibition where members display a selection of their best work.
Some photographers will also be on hand at lunchtimes every day to chat about their craft.
November 1st - 10th Sheffield Winter Garden Free
Get ready for an explosion of culture, unity, and celebration. This all-day event is designed for those who have a deep love for African and Caribbean culture and are passionate about bringing our communities together.
There'll be a Black Business Expo, delicious African and Caribbean cuisine, live entertainment, a fashion show, guest speakers, exciting prize and gift giveaways and a special DJ set.

A day of festive joy, flavour and culture! Enjoy traditional dance performances, henna art, and mouth-watering treats to light up the day with community spirit.
November 3rd Cambridge Street Collective Free
The UK’s largest touring firework spectacular returns on Bonfire Night with Phats and Small as the headline act.
The family-friendly event features live entertainment, fairground rides and street food stalls with two firework displays choreographed to music from around the world.

Watch the film premiere of Cradle of Fire, a unique multi-media re-imagining the story of Roman god Vulcan.
The film explores the mythology of the god of fire, forges and volcanoes – a symbol of Sheffield for more than 100 years. The score features poetry, rap and song, blended with recordings of Sheffield’s industrial tools and machines.
There will also be a live performance from the Grenoside sword dancers, food and a bar, plus the opportunity to visit the museum after hours.
November 7th Kelham Island Museum Free
Swap your bed for a sleeping bag in a bar. Join the one-night sleep out in the award winning Alder bar in order to raise essential funds to support young people in our area facing homelessness.
An evening of quiz and games at Alder, before lights out at midnight.

Markets
Peddler Market is back this Friday and Saturday
Sheffield is home to lots of lovely markets. This weekend is Peddler Market on November 1st and 2nd and the Sheffield Vintage Flea market on Saturday 2nd.
