October is a fantastic month for events in Sheffield with Off the Shelf, Out of This World, Black History Month, Sensoria and many others. Check out what's on over the next week below!
Off the Shelf returns this month
Sheffield's annual festival celebrating books, words and ideas! Off the Shelf is one of the UK’s largest literary festivals with more than 80 live and online events across the city.
Throughout October the festival brings the biggest names in local, regional, and international literary talent, media and the arts to South Yorkshire.

A celebration of a city and its music, film, art and electronica, Sensoria festival's 17th edition will once again bring live events and exhibitions to iconic venues across Sheffield.
Since it began in 2008, the festival has become renowned for its use of unusual venues, with events having included city centre drive-ins, swimming pool screenings, and an AV installation in a 60s hotel ballroom.

Come along for a few free fun-filled hours with your canine friend to celebrate the launch of Sheffield Cathedral's new mascot, Talbot the Dog.
There'll be a paw print art station, dog shopping stall, dog selfie booth, puppychinos and other tasty treats, dog biscuit decoration station, dog competitions with prizes to be won, a dog social area, and more!
October 5th, 11am until 2pm Sheffield Cathedral Free
The historic Heeley Art Club - which has been going since 1895 - is displaying a variety of work in various media from current members, some featuring Sheffield subjects.
