September Edition - Update on Leaseholder Survey
|
A big thank you to all of you who took the time to complete the survey that was included in our last bulletin - it's really important to get your views on the service we provide.
We have now collated the responses, and here are some of the main points that were raised:
|
|
 |
Providing better information on repairs completed
All repairs information is held separately to other information to enable the repairs service to effectively schedule work. We are currently investigating if we can extract these details in an easy to understand format, and provide them as part of your annual service charge information. Details are always available on request, and as a minimum we will be able to provide these in writing or email, and from next year over the telephone.
More ways to be involved and have your say
We have a number of ways our tenants and leaseholders can shape our services. Our Engagement Pit Stop page shows all the different ways, from simple surveys or mystery shopping through to attending forums, as well as current consultations where you can tell us your views.
Contacting the Leasehold Team
Some of you have said it can be difficult contacting us. Our telephone lines are open 10am - 4pm, and a voicemail facility is available out of these hours. Our telephone number is 0114 273 4468. We are a small team of 7, so it's not always possible for your telephone call to be answered as quickly as we would like. We are investigating moving our telephone service to a different system already used by other Council departments - one where we can better monitor peak times, and where possible, make more people available to answer your calls.
You can email us leaseholdservice@sheffield.gov.uk, or write to us at Leasehold Services, Sheffield City Council, PO Box 5967, Sheffield S2 9GH.
We can also offer face to face meetings, either at a local housing office, or in your own home.
Communal areas and outside space
You told us you would like more information on when cleaning and external space maintenance is due to happen. Our estates team work hard to maintain communal areas and outside space and much of their work is dependant on weather, so we are unable to guarantee specific dates. However, we do publish details of what you can expect, depending on your property type on our website. If waste can be linked to a property the tenants or leaseholders of that property will be charged to cover the costs. This acts as a deterrent, and ensures that only the people who fly-tip get penalised.
Finally, we will continue to work on the important things you have told us and keep you updated in future bulletins.
