Sheffield City Council is launching the Lord Mayor Awards, recognising the amazing contribution of people and organisations that are at the heart of Sheffield.
The Lord Mayor Award celebrates those who have made a significant contribution to life in Sheffield, are a leader in their field or have helped put the city on the map.

“Paul was a dedicated and respected member of the Council and I’m sure colleagues from across the chamber and officers in the Council will share my sadness at this news and will miss him."

Four new Changing Places pods have been built around the city to help make Sheffield accessible for more residents.
Providing these toilets in public places makes a dramatic difference to the lives of thousands of people who desperately need these facilities.
Peter Denton, the Chief Executive of Homes England, has visited Sheffield to take a look at the brilliant housing projects taking shape in the area.
He also checked out some of our regeneration projects, including Cambridge Street Collective and the Radisson Blu Hotel.
Partners involved in housing and regeneration projects right across the city came together to visit both ongoing and recently completed sites and check in on their progress.
It is key in bringing housing experts together to find ways of hitting housing targets and making sure the demand for good quality, safe, affordable homes across Sheffield is met.
Located at West Bar, in front of the Emergency Services Museum, the roundabout will give priority to pedestrians and cyclists, making it safer and easier for people to get around the city in an active way.
For the third year in a row, Sheffield is home to the best food hall in the country with Cambridge Street Collective taking the top spot.
As the nights are beginning to draw in, and with Halloween and Bonfire night now around the corner, popular events are set to return to the city this Autumn.
