Routes and Ways - Fairbank's Sheffield
The Fairbank family worked as surveyors from 1736 to 1848. They mapped the growth of Sheffield from a small town to a large industrial city, leaving behind about 4,600 hand-drawn plans covering Sheffield and beyond.
Drop in to the City Archives for a look at some of these very early plans.
Dr James Shaw from Sheffield University and Sally Rodgers from the City Archives will be on hand to answer questions.
This is also an opportunity to have a guided tour of our strongroom which is not usually open to the public.
Free event - just drop in!
Friday 13th September 11am-2pm.
Sheffield City Archives, 52 Shoreham Street, Sheffield, S1 4SP
