Sheffield is gearing up for an exciting day of cycling as the Tour of Britain returns next week. You can also give the sport a go at the community cycling festival. Read on for the details of those events and more.

Art in the Gardens returns on September 7th and 8th
Thousands of pieces of art and craft will be on show and for sale at the great annual outdoor market in Sheffield Botanical Gardens.
Come along to explore new art, meet the artists, enjoy local food and drink and admire the scenery.
September 7th - 8th Botanical Gardens £6 (plus booking fee), free for under 16s
This weekend Walkley showcases the best in fruit, vegetables, cut flowers, preserves and baking in its horticultural show. There will also be stalls, games and a raffle.
Entries to the competitions - which include a junior section - must be submitted by Friday evening.

It's nearly time for Sheffield Walking Festival. There is another packed programme this year with 33 guided walks over 10 days - all free although spaces must be reserved.
A great variety is on offer from urban city strolls to more challenging routes into the Peak District - all led by knowledgeable and experienced walk leaders, representing a host of different community groups and organisations from across the city.

The Tour of Britain is coming to South Yorkshire
As part of the Tour of Britain 2024 festivities, Sheffield will host an evening community cycling festival.
This free event is an opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to develop their skills and find out more about the sport.
September 4th, 4pm - 8pm Forge Valley School Free
Watch some of the world's top riders - including Olympic and Tour de France champions - race across South Yorkshire in stage three of the Tour of Britain.
The race starts from Arundel Gate in Sheffield city centre then takes in some of the region's most famous, and hardest, climbs to provide a real test for the cyclists over the 166 km (103 mile) course.
Spectators can watch the race anywhere along the route.
