 Festival of Debate
The Festival of Debate - the UK's largest annual non-partisan politics festival - is in full swing!
It has a challenging and diverse programme of events, featuring an array of well-known keynote speakers in this 10th edition.
There is also a wide-ranging schedule of community events led by grassroots groups, partners and individual citizens.

If you are looking for something adventurous this weekend, Alpkit's School of Adventure is running an outdoor bouldering for beginners course for those looking to get into the sport.
All courses are led by qualified instructors from Peak District based Pure Outdoors. Places on these courses are made affordable and accessible thanks to the Alpkit Foundation, who subsidise every ticket.

Have you ever spoken words in front of a bunch of people or wanted to? Now is your chance at Sheffield's newest Open Mic poetry and storytelling event hosted by Aiden Pyne.
Regardless of experience you are welcome to share your art and enjoy others work including from a few special guests.
The slots are five minutes and sign ups are from 7pm with the show starting at 7:30pm.
April 25th The Three Tuns Free
The Hallamshire Military Concert Band will be playing melodies that have defined cinema throughout the years bringing the magic of the silver screen to life.

April 27th Wadsley Church £5
Six DJ Dads are dusting off their turntables for a second time to play house, disco and more to raise funds for Sheffield Music School.
The last ‘Fundraver’ was a smash it and this latest event promises to be just as good. Kids over 12 years old are welcome.
April 28th (4pm until 9pm) Yellow Arch Studios £11.55
These events, while aimed at people in recovery, are open to anybody interested in exploring drink-free nightlife and meeting like-minded people who want to enjoy music events in an alcohol-free setting.
You can expect live performances and DJ sets from people who RiteTrax have been working with through the delivery of their positive activities programme, as well as free refreshments and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
April 26th Plot 22 Free
Do you love music? Join Songs for the Record, a new 'book club' for music albums.
The group - run by lifelong friends George and Pete - is building a fun, informal and welcoming space for people to talk about the music they love. It's a chance to meet people with similar interests and maybe discover new bands.

April 30th The Three Tuns Free
Footprints is Sheffield’s new monthly midweek jazz club.
This open jazz jam welcomes musicians of all skills and genres to come and experience a four hour long jam session with some of Sheffield's most popular talents.
All you have to do is bring your instrument and sign your name down on the day. Drum kit and amps are provided by the venue. Spectators are more than welcome!

Tickets for Good is a Sheffield-based company offering free and heavily discounted tickets for events throughout the UK.
They have a huge range of tickets for local events right now including Sheffield FC, Sheffield Eagles, World Series Snooker Championship (Seniors), Drama Studio (University of Sheffield), Genting Casino, Sheffield Chamber Music Festival, Classical Music in the Crucible Playhouse and allocations from Tramlines Festival and Crossed Wires arriving soon.
The tickets are available for NHS staff (and contractors), charity workers and people in receipt of UK Government Cost of Living payments.
