More about the proposals
We’ve been learning from the street tree dispute, and we’re committed to agreeing a way forward to carry out necessary works on these roads.
Amey, who delivers our Streets Ahead highway maintenance contract, has completed designs that allow resurfacing to take place whilst retaining the trees.
The plans also ensure there is enough room to protect the roots of these trees and allow some space for future growth.
The designs have been shared with the Sheffield Street Tree Partnership, and independently audited to ensure highway safety implications have been considered.
