The MOBO Awards
It's now less than two weeks to go until Sheffield hosts the MOBO Awards.
Some of the biggest stars in music will come together at Sheffield Arena for the hotly anticipated event. Stormzy, Little Simz, RAYE, Central Cee, PinkPantheress and many other famous artists are up for awards.

The city is set to welcome the MOBO Awards with a big takeover celebration in the Winter Garden.
Join us for a glorious celebration of Sheffield’s black culture as Spotlight showcases a host of music, food, hair and beauty and artistic talent.
This special MOBO Fringe event will be free for anyone to attend, with a lineup of live music and cultural performances throughout the day.

Sheffield presents a special educational panel discussion and Q&A with key leaders from UK Black Music.
A must-attend session for any aspiring music artists, the event will welcome a number of successful industry figures, along with emerging artists and their teams, to share their expertise and help push forward the next generation of talent.

Pattern + Push and Slambarz have teamed up to host a big night of new music in rap, drill, RnB, spoken word, afrobeat and more ahead of the MOBOs.

Threads Through Creation exhibition at Sheffield Cathedral
Sheffield Cathedral is hosting an extraordinary exhibition of twelve embroidered silk panels that explore the story of creation from the book of Genesis.
The huge panels measuring 8ft high and 13ft wide were made using more than eight million stitches.

Cupola Gallery is hosting its annual Under the Bed Sale which offers the chance to pick up original work across a range of art forms, with prices starting as low as £1 and up to a maximum of £350.
Artists from near and far, amateur and professional, dig out work from storage that they are happy to sell at bargain prices. It may be old work, early work or experiments – work that may have been stored ‘under the bed’.

Sheffield Symphony Orchestra is playing pieces by three of the great composers of the 20th century at its upcoming concert.
The large orchestra of experienced, skilled players and professionals will play Shostakovich: Festival Overture, Falla: Three Cornered Hat and Prokofiev: Symphony No.5.

Sheffield Libraries has planned a programme of events to celebrate LGBTQ+ history month in February.
The first takes place on February 1, bringing together a panel of LGBTQ+ people to discuss how Section 28 impacted their school lives and how they found community outside the school gates.
Performers on stage for Lunar New Year celebrations
The city will celebrate the Lunar New Year with a five-day festival which will start by illuminating a dragon on Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity.
Celebrations welcoming the Year of the Dragon include a food festival at the Peace Gardens, performances at the University of Sheffield Octagon Centre and a charity auction dinner at local restaurant China Red.

The lineup for 'Sheffield's biggest party' has landed! This year's Hillsborough Park headliners are Paolo Nutini, Jamie T and Snow Patrol.
