Lest We Forget. On Sunday 12th November Sheffield will mark the National Day of Remembrance in Barkers Pool. Join us at 10:30am by the city’s war memorial, we will remember all that have served and sacrificed.

The Sterndale Singers gathered inside at the church alter eagerly waiting to perform as a collective.
This Remembrance Sunday, the Sterndale Singers and the Bel Canto Choir, director Robert Webb and Organist Jonathan Gooing, team together to perform Karl Jenkins' Armed Man Mass.
This powerful Mass for peace combines movements from the traditional with other musical forms. It does not shrink from depicting the horror of war but also includes moments of calm and peace. The work ends on a note of hope. It is a fitting tribute to those who have lost their lives or suffered in other ways due to war.

The Christmas Market's Alpine Lodge bustles with crowds enjoying the festivities on a cold winters night.
Christmas will officially start in Sheffield from the 16th of November, when our Christmas market returns to the city centre.
Sheffield Christmas Market is back for another year to help get you into the festive spirit. Celebrating Sheffield's great independent scene, once again there'll be a whole host of traders with many of them based locally, with an array of seasonal food & drink and unique gift ideas, all set against the twinkly lights of the city centre.
A full on Festive Weekend will take place across the 18th & 19th of November. The city will play host to street entertainment including brass bands, choirs, street dance artists and an outdoor cinema screen which will be showing Christmas films throughout the weekend.

Submissions of your home creations must be made in advance. There will be live music throughout the event, screen printing, fermentation plus food and drinks to warm your cockles on a cold autumnal night.

A pioneering new film festival debuts in Sheffield. The city's Site Galley will be home to Sheffield's Global Cinema festival, showcasing 32 upcoming short films from around the world, several are the work of filmmakers from the North of England.
The program features a range of films from countries all across the world, plus Sheffield based health film Adaptive Adventure. Alongside the screenings the event offers a set of free screenwriting workshops.
