Black History Month events - until 31 October

There are lots of ways to celebrate Black History Month in Sheffield.
You could:
- Watch the poetic film ‘Who We Were; Who We Became’ at Sheffield and District African Caribbean Community Association (SADACCA)
- Experience the brand new production the The King of Reggae - The Man - The Music at the Lyceum Theatre
- Join Peter Brathwaite on a beautifully illustrated journey through representations of Black subjects in Western art at Drama Studio

Pumpkin picking at Graves Park
Graves Park Animal Farm is back with its extremely popular pumpkin picking event this Halloween.
You and your family can hunt for the perfect pumpkin at Graves Park. There are over 5,000 pumpkins to search through, so enjoy this spooktacular event this October half term.
No need to book; just turn up and pick.
Pumpkin picking, October 21st - 31st - 10am-3pm Graves Park Animal Farm, Norton £7 entry for children (free entry for adults)
This includes entry to the farm, woodland walk area and one pumpkin. No dogs allowed
Stormtroopers at Out of this World.
The must attend year for anyone who enjoys sci-fi, comic books, gaming, magic, illusion, Halloween and all things spooky.
With stalls, street entertainment, magic shows, activities and fairground rides, there'll be lots to see and do, so don your favourite fancy dress and join in the fun.
Out of This World, Sunday 22 October, 10.30am-5.30pm Split in to zones at Winter Garden, Tudor Square, the Town Hall, Millennium Square, the Peace Gardens and Barker's Pool Free to attend with some paid for activities
Spooky crafts
Get Crafty this Halloween weekend. Visit Sheffield Manor Lodge on 23–26 October for spooky arts and crafts inspired by Halloween celebs! On the day, you can create:
- A Frankenstein’s Monster mask complete with bolts and stitches
- A mini Dracula model (yours can be cute or scary)
- A pair of pesky fluffy ghosts Glow-in-the-dark materials and stickers to help get you into the eerie spirit will be provided
Alongside the crafts, you can also challenge yourself with a creepy quiz and go on a weird and wonderful Halloween trail in the Sheffield Manor Lodge’s ruins.
Complete both activities and you’ll get a trick or treat reward!

Graves Park Animal Farm introduces this year its first adult-only Fright Night for Halloween. Hear the terrifying history of the Bunting Nook Wood and see if the legend of the ghoulish beast that lives there is true for yourself.

NVM workshop where children enjoy the hands on crafting activities.
Picture This, is an exciting new programme of activities of endless camera based fun at The National Videogame Museum for the October half term.
Alongside introducing fresh games, including Pokemon Snap, visitors can generate their own content by taking pixel perfect selfies with a Game Boy Camera or crafting props for a photo booth close up!

This half term weekend, take part in a comic-making workshop and see how the power of imagination, storytelling and art can transform our collective future.
Guided by ,the talent author and illustrator, Emma Reynolds learn all about how activists around the world are making a difference and how protest and community action has been successful throughout history. Join in and create your own change making comic about an issue you care about.

Victorius viking in battle stand in armour after winning his fight.
Knights in Battle are back with a presentation of the use of arms and armour in early medieval Britain. The talk will include combat demonstrations to show the weaponry in use, and there will be a chance to handle the weapons after the talk.
