SENDIAS Service Update
What a year it's been for us here at SENDIAS! We have taken nearly 3000 referrals, run several in-person sessions as well as our usual online ones, led our first parent session for Punjabi and Urdu speaking parents and began work to support and advocate for young people! Keep an eye on our Facebook page for further information about our events, as well as other events happening across the city 😊
SENDIAS Theme of the month...
Keep checking the SSENDIAS Facebook page over the summer for our new 'theme of the month' feature. July and August will focus on Preparation for Adulthood and School Readiness. Throughout the year other themes will include SEN Support, Mediation and Tribunals and much more! We will also be offering drop in events on Facebook where you can ask us a question relating to the current theme 👍

Sheffield Healthy Holidays
Sheffield Healthy Holidays is all about trying new activities and eating food that does us good! Sheffield Children and young people in receipt of benefits-related free school meals can now choose from a huge range of fun free activities across the city throughout the holidays - all completely free!

If your child is moving between phases of education you must apply for their school by the following dates:

Nursery to Primary / Infants 15th January 2024

Primary / Junior to Secondary 31st October 2024

Secondary to Post 16 - 31st January 2024

If your child or young person has an EHC Plan:
Nursery to infant, Infant to Junior, Primary/Junior to Secondary, you will receive a letter by the end of July from SENDSARS (SEND Statutory Assessment and Review Service) asking for your parental preferences by the first week in September 2024 School admissions of children with special educational needs and disabilities | Sheffield (sheffielddirectory.org.uk)
If your child has an EHC Plan and is due to transition from Y11 to Post 16 you will receive a letter mid-September asking for preference by end of October 2024. What are the Post 16 education options? | Sheffield (sheffielddirectory.org.uk)
