Festival feedback
A big thank you to everyone who took part in our Adult Social Care Festival of Involvement this June and July. Take a look at the Festival ideas board, add comments, like your favourites or post your own suggestions for working together.
Everything will be fed into our Citizens Involvement Project later this autumn, where we'll design a new approach to involvement for adult social care. Sign up to take part now and we'll keep you posted.
This issue of the newsletter has got plenty to get involved with in the meantime, from taking part in some filming, to co-producing this year's adult social care annual report.
 Making Involvement Better
Online workshop, Tuesday 5 September, 7-8.30pm on Zoom
Join us for this repeat of our Festival of Involvement Launch workshop, exploring what good involvement and coproduction looks like, where the opportunities are to work together in adult social care and how we can do it better.
If you missed the session the first time round, this will be a great introduction for our upcoming citizens involvement project. Everyone welcome!

Co-create the annual report for Sheffield adult social care
All local authorities have to produce an annual report on care services called the Local Account. This year we want to work with local people to create a report for Sheffield that's really meaningful and honestly captures how well we are doing.
If you're currently receiving support or care for someone who does, are free on Thursday mornings in September and fancy joining our project team, get in touch. We offer an involvement payment of £10 an hour for taking part, plus support and access expenses.

Star in our new recruitment film
We're looking for outgoing Sheffield residents who currently receive adult social care to talk about their experience of assessments and support on film. We'll be creating recruitment advertisements for paid roles in adult care locally.
Filming will take place in early autumn and will take around four hours. We offer an involvement payment of £10 an hour for taking part, plus support and access expenses.
If you are interested, please contact John Chamberlain by Friday 8 September, email: john.chamberlain@sheffield.gov.uk or call: 07825 755130.

Sheffield Dementia Survey 2023
We're updating our city-wide plans for how we can help people in Sheffield to live well with dementia. Take part in this short survey which has just four main questions and then some optional ones about yourself.
The survey closing date is 15 September.

Help design a 'How to manage your Direct Payments' brochure
People have told us they want more information about options for managing direct payments (cash payments to pay for things if you have a support plan). So we're looking for people to work with us to design an accessible and easy to understand guide.
This project is part of our Direct Payments Improvement Programme, which includes several other opportunities to take part, such as reviewing the way we audit Direct Payments to check how well they are working.

Are you an unpaid carer for an adult with a learning disability?
You could be a Carer Rep on the newly restructured Learning Disabilities Partnership Board. The Board works to make things better for everyone with learning disabilities and their families in Sheffield.
Half the Board is made up of people with learning disabilities, alongside other reps from health, housing, employment, social care and the voluntary sector.
Meetings are quarterly in person, usually on a Monday afternoon, for two hours. We offer an involvement payment of £10 an hour for being a rep, plus expenses such as carer cover.
