The local exemptions that delayed charging for Light Goods Vehicles (LGV) and Hackney Carriage Taxi vehicles until June 2023 are ending next week. From Monday 5th June, charges will apply to enter the CAZ unless the vehicle is compliant or has an alternative exemption, e.g. has a compliant vehicle on order and is waiting delivery.
Vehicle owners of older non-compliant vehicles, based in Sheffield and Rotherham, can still apply for financial support to upgrade or replace a vehicle to meet CAZ standards.
If you’re entering the zone you can pay up to six days in advance, on the day, or up to six days after your journey. For information and a simple and secure way to pay, head to: https://www.gov.uk/clean-air-zones
-
£50 per day for larger vehicles – such as buses, coaches and HGVs
-
£10 per day for smaller vehicles – such as taxis and LGVs
-
Larger campervans / motorhomes can apply for a discounted rate, reducing the charge amount to £10
Applications for the retrospective financial support scheme are open. The Scheme offers residents and businesses who have already upgraded their vehicle to meet CAZ standards, the opportunity to apply for a grant, to contribute towards the costs they incurred.
The retrospective scheme will be open for a period of eight weeks and will close on Thursday 29 June at 11.59pm.
