It's August Bank Holiday weekend and there's plenty going on in Sheffield for you to enjoy - heritage, markets, culture, sport and family fun!
 Climbers in action at Cliffhanger
This Saturday and Sunday, Cliffhanger returns! This inner-city festival dedicated to celebrating the great outdoors hosts the British Bouldering Championships as the headline event. Come along and watch the nation’s strongest climbers battle it out on a purpose-built bouldering wall on Devonshire Green. You'll also find some bike skill action, trade stalls, street food and bars on site, plus an Artisan market with plants, cakes and gifts at Barkers Pool. Entry is free.

Join Vetrans at the Armed Forces Funday at Frecheville Sports & Social Club this Sunday. There will be marching bands, bouncy castles, face painting, animal petting, raffles and a superhero fancy dress competition. Entry is free.

 Sheffield Fayre at Norfolk Heritage Park
Bank Holiday Monday is all set for some family fun in Norfolk Heritage Park as Sheffield Fayre returns! Activities and entertainment for all ages including Birds of Prey displays, National Emergency Services Museum 1950’s Vintage Village, games corner, fun fair, bungee trampolines, kite demos, craft and food stalls plus plenty more. Entry is free.

Experience some unique cinematic and musical events at ShAFF's Spirit of Adventure, part of the Sheffield Showcase event. Reflect and relax in the beautiful space of Sheffield Cathedral before enjoying films, adventure film loops, audio story and live storytelling. Local historian Janet Ridler shows Sheffield's development from Saxon times to the present day can be traced within the walls of the cathedral. Through the architecture and stained glass, discover hidden stories from medieval, Tudor and Victorian times at this free to attend event.

Art in the Gardens will be showcasing a huge selection of artists, craft makers and visitors from throughout the UK. Set in the beautiful Botanical Gardens, it's always a great opportunity to buy amazing art direct from the artists, whilst enjoying the perfect surroundings that the gardens have to offer. Set amongst Tudor ruins and meadows, there's plenty for adults and children to enjoy including getting up close with birds of prey, watching combat and forge demonstrations, get dressed up Tudor-style or children can take part in imaginary jousting.
