Amey operatives working in the city centre
This week, like the rest of the UK, we saw record high temperatures here in Sheffield.
We supported our staff working out on the network to carry out their roles, whilst prioritising their health and safety - from wearing sunscreen and hats, to taking regular breaks in the shade.
We would like to say a big, big thank you to all our teams who braved the intense heat to keep our services running in challenging conditions.
We've been posting well - deserved shout - outs to our workers throughout the week on Twitter.
Liverpool Street, Sheffield
We've recently been hard at work reinstating cobbles by hand on a number of roads across the city. Here's a progress picture from Liverpool Street which we think is looking great already!
Our work on cobbled streets helps maintain the unique character of an area and restores the historic importance.
Did you know that cobblestones date back to ancient times, with many pre-Roman cobbled streets dating back to the 3rd and 4th centuries?!
