In March, our teams started cutting some grass verges across the city to maintain sight lines, prevent build - ups of litter and ensure visibility for pedestrians and road users.
We also maintain a number of wildflower verges across Sheffield, allowing vegetation to grow and improving habitats for local wildlife.
As well as maintaining grass verges, our teams also look after planted roundabouts, roadside shrubbery and some flowerbeds on the highway.
With summer on the horizon, we'll be working hard to make sure the city's green spaces and flowerbeds are thriving, ready for the warmer weather.
In recent years we have visited hundreds of schools to educate local kids about the importance of keeping their communities clean and tidy.
Our Education Officer delivers interactive sessions that show the impact litter has on wildlife and the environment, as well as suggesting ways that everyone can do their bit.
In coming weeks, we'll be visiting Charnock Hall Primary Academy, Reignhead Primary School and Rainbow Forge Primary with our popular Mascot, Phil the Bin!
