Gritting lorries at Olive Grove Depot, Sheffield
After another busy winter period, Streets Ahead will soon close the doors on the salt domes for another year.
This winter proved to be a stormy one, with as many as seven named storms barrelling across Sheffield from the end of November 2021. Despite that, the gritting teams have continued to work around the clock to keep the roads across the city moving safely.

A series of partial lane closures on the Sheffield and Mosborough Parkways will continue throughout May as Streets Ahead carry out essential maintenance works.
The closures only occur at weekends and mostly overnight when there is less traffic on the roads.
Our grass cutting programme started again on the 28th March.
Grass cutting is crucial to maintain sight lines at road junctions, ensure safe access routes and prevent the build-up of litter on verges.
