Time is running out for you to have your say on how we deal with rent arrears in the future.
Our short survey - which closes on 24th February - takes a few minutes to complete and asks for your views on changes we’d like to make to our rent recovery policy.
The general theme is a bigger emphasis on prevention and support – trying to stop people falling into arrears in the first place.
The proposals include:
- Additional support for vulnerable tenants
- Simplified guidance for rehousing tenants in arrears on their current or former tenancy
- More emphasis on paying rent by Direct Debit, which is now a tenancy condition
- Sending annual rent statements rather than every 13 weeks, though tenants can request them more frequently if they wish
- Trying to contact new tenants within the first two weeks of their tenancy
