Testing is a vital part in our fight against the spread of Covid-19 and to help reduce the rate of people contracting the virus, your help is still needed as much as ever.

Covid creative writing exhibition produced by Sheffielders - till 1 September

During the first lockdown in March 2020, Claire Walker, one of our library officers went above and beyond to inspire people to get creative to help people through those difficult weeks.  Every day from the beginning of lockdown until July 2020, Claire posted a writing prompt to inspire others to write, feel or think imaginatively on the Sheffield Libraries Facebook page.

Additional Mobile Testing Units (MTU)

There is now an additional MTU at the Johnson St Car Park opposite CO-OP in Stocksbridge. The site will operate Mon – Sun (9am – 3pm).

Also an additional MTU in Darnall (Pedestrian) at Station Road Car Park, the site will operate  7 days a week from 8am to 8pm for symptomatic (PCR) testing.

What to do if you have Covid-19 signs or symptoms

If you are showing any of the following symptoms of Covid-19, however mild, you must self-isolate and get tested as soon as you can:

• A high temperature
• A new, continuous cough
• A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

Bring your mobile phone with you if you have one, including photo identification such as a driving licence or passport. There will be someone on-site to register everyone onto the NHS Track and Trace portal. Most people will get their test results the day after taking a symptomatic (PDR) test. Some results might take longer, but you should get them in 72 hours.

You should only book a test if you have symptoms of Covid-19. Tests must be pre-booked and can only be booked via the national NHS portal online nhs.uk/coronavirus or by calling 119. Stay at home and continue to self-isolate until you get your test results - only leave home to have a test.
