Cyber Scam Presentation by South Yorkshire Police
Throughout lockdown digital has been a very useful tool for a lot of us. Banking, shopping, keeping in touch with family and friends. Zoom, Skype, WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter to name just a few have become part of everyday routines for some of us.
With the increased use of online services online scams are becoming more commonplace. To help raise awareness we have a special presentation given by South Yorkshire Police.

Many of our customers now go online to access our services, whether that be ordering a repair, checking a rent balance or bidding for a property.
The Covid pandemic has resulted in more people trying out new digital channels that are quick, convenient and cost effective for both the customer and service provider. We are delighted that so many of you are embracing new ways of communicating and engaging with us, and we’ll continue to make sure our online services develop to meet the growing demand.
In line with the easing of restrictions nationally, we have re-opened our First Points at Hillsborough, Crystal Peaks and Sorby House, along with Howden House and Sheffield Property Shop. We have chosen these sites for re-opening as they are traditionally our busiest access points and in locations which have good transport links. However, there will only be a limited number of appointments available each day, which must be booked in advance. We will prioritise emergencies and complex cases so please continue to use our online services and call centre where you can. Our other housing offices remain closed for now.
Office visits will be very different to before the pandemic with restrictions and measures in place to keep customers and staff safe.
If you feel you need to speak to someone face-to-face, please call 0114 293 0000 so we can assess your enquiry.
