Elections 6 May

Your postal vote update

It is our understanding that postal votes landed on people’s doorsteps over the bank holiday weekend. Further postal votes have been hand delivered to those who had not received theirs.

Please complete your postal votes as soon as possible and return in the freepost envelope provided by Wednesday 5 May to make sure your vote counts on the 6 May.

You can also hand deliver your postal vote to the Town Hall or at your local polling station by 10pm on Thursday 6 May.

If you have not received your postal vote, please get in touch with elections@sheffield.gov.uk.

Covid safe elections

Use your vote

Covid-19 safe voting

Polling stations are open from 7.00am until 10.00pm on Thursday.

When you go to the polling station, please help keep everyone safe - remember hands, face, space.  Bring your own pen or pencil to vote.

To help with social distancing in polling stations you may have to queue outside. Remember to keep a safe space apart and dress for the weather.

You don't need to take your poll card, but this may make your visit quicker. Polling staff won't touch your card and you'll need to take it back home with you.

Remember to take a:

  • Face covering
  • Pen or pencil

And...

  • dress for the weather

Details about where you should vote will be on your poll card or you can find your polling station here.

Thanks for helping to keep Sheffield safe.

Changes to polling stations

This is a reminder that voters in some parts of Sheffield will have received new poll cards to let them know that their polling station has changed.

We changed a small number of polling stations to ensure that they are accessible for all voters:

  • Polling District PB in Graves Park ward will now vote at Graves Park Bowling Pavilion off Charles Ashmore Road (previously Painted Fabrics)
  • Polling District EE in Broomhill and Sharrow Vale ward will now vote at Crookesmoor Training Centre on Crookesmoor Road (previously Hallam Tiles)
  • Polling District ZH in Walkley ward will now vote at Ebenezer Methodist Hall on Greenhow Street (previously Walkley Library)

No other polling station changes are planned.  The polling station finder on the council’s website has been updated to show the changes. Find your polling station here or click below.

You don't need your poll card to vote, but it may make your visit quicker.

  • You are away from home because of work and you weren’t aware of this before 27 April 2021
  • You are self-isolating because of Covid-19 (this might be because of a positive test result, because you have Covid-19 symptoms, you are quarantining following an overseas visit, or because you have been told to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace)

To apply complete the relevant form on the Electoral Commission website or click below.

The form must be returned either by email to elections@sheffield.gov.uk or in person to Sheffield Town Hall by 5.00pm on Thursday 6 May 2021.
