This month a rapid Covid testing centre will open for essential staff who work with vulnerable people but have not got symptoms. The centre will be based at the English Institute of Sport Sheffield (EISS).

Almost all Covid test results in Sheffield are currently being returned within 24 hours. It's really important to get tested if you have any symptoms of Coronavirus and please remember to self-isolate immediately. There is plenty of capacity at all of our testing centres, so you won’t need to wait long for a test.

A 20-year Strategic Economic Plan has been approved by the Sheffield City Region Mayoral Combined Authority and Local Enterprise Partnership. The plan sets out local leaders’ blueprint to drive the region’s recovery from COVID and transform South Yorkshire’s economy.
If you have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), you must self-isolate and get a test as soon as possible.
There are now 6 testing centres in Sheffield at the following locations:
- Local Testing Site at Sharrow
- Local Testing Site at Darnall
- Regional Testing Site at Meadowhall
- The Mobile Testing Unit at the former Hazel Barrow Primary School site, Hazel Barrow Crescent, S8 8AN
- Local Testing Site at Burngreave
- Local Testing Site at Upperthorpe
You should only book a test if you have symptoms of Covid-19. Tests must be pre-booked and can only be booked via the national NHS portal online nhs.uk/coronavirus or by calling 119. Stay at home and continue to self-isolate until you get your test results - only leave home to have a test.
