Sheffield’s primary school children are being invited to showcase their artistic talents by creating designs for two of the city’s gritting lorries, which form part of the fleet helping to keep Sheffield safe during winter.

‘Sammy Snow’ and ‘Gertie Gritter’ are both in need of a new coat and we’re asking for some eye catching designs from the city’s youngsters to help spruce them up!

The competition is split into two age groups; 4-7 years and 8-11 years and children can enter as an individual, class or group.

Stuck for things to do over the half term break? Why not ask your children to get creative and give one of our iconic yellow gritters a brand new coat ready for Winter 2020?

Designs will be judged by Cabinet member for Environment and Street Scene at Sheffield City Council, Councillor Mark Jones and Wayne Southall, Winter Operations Manager from Amey Streets Ahead.
