Sheffield City Council will launch a consultation after the summer holidays to give people the opportunity to provide their views and feedback on what they would like to be included in the Sheffield Local Plan. In preparation for the consultation, and to give people time to find out more about the aims of the Plan and the choices available for Sheffield, an ‘Issues and Options’ document has been issued ahead of the start of the consultation.

Shirland Lane Canal Bridge in Attercliffe, which was built in the 1950s, has re-opened after being closed for 8 months to enable essential strengthening works to be carried out.
 Sheffield City Council is celebrating World Breastfeeding Week, taking place from August 1 to August 7. This year’s theme is supporting breastfeeding for a healthier planet.
The city’s newly established Race Equality Commission is calling for submissions of evidence to support and inform its inquiry into race inequality in Sheffield.

Due to rail replacement work taking place between Gleadless Townend and Spring Lane, trams are unable to operate between Halfway and Sheffield Station from Saturday 25 July - Tuesday 01 September 2020.

Face coverings will be required in more locations across England when new Government rules come in from Saturday, August 8. This will include museums, theatres and cinemas.
 Changes to the road layout in Broomhill are starting this week.
Amey, on behalf of Sheffield City Council, has begun work this week on temporarily pedestriansing the parking area outside Morrisions and Sainsbury’s in Broomhill to allow more space for people to maintain social distancing.
 Greg Fell, Sheffield Director of Public Health is sending a letter to every household in Sheffield detailing the current guidelines. Look out for this letter about what we can all do to help keep everyone safe.
 In line with Government guidance, events and leisure venues across the country are cancelled, postponed and closed.
We do not have a comprehensive list of all affected events and activities in Sheffield, but are sharing what we know.
 State of the art football pitches at Sheffield's SGP Graves & SGP Thorncliffe will reopen from Monday 10 August.
All participants must pre-book and adhere to the measures in place to keep everyone safe.
We have increased our current offer of testing sites in Sheffield and continue to explore more ways in which we can support our communities to get tested and stay safe.
