Eid Mubarak
As Eid al-Adha approaches, we know this is traditionally a time for families and communities to celebrate together. We hope you enjoy getting together but please follow the guidance to help us stop the spread of COVID-19.
- If you are meeting family and friends try to keep at least 2 metres from those outside your household.
- If you are planning to visit your local mosque contact them ahead of time to see if they have any guidance on arrival, transport or entry times.
- If you have any symptoms of Covid-19 or if anyone in your household has symptoms (a new continuous cough, high temperature, change in normal sense of taste or smell), stay at home and get a test.
Rainbow crossing
We helped mark the return of Sheffield Pride with a rainbow crossing in the city centre. The semi-permanent design on Pinstone Street was created to coincide with the city’s Digital Pride event.

Springwell play park
We have reopened a small number of playgrounds, spread across the city’s parks. Our parks and countryside service has been working through the challenges to enable reopening safely.
We would like to understand your experience in relation to the last four months of the pandemic. We're asking you to reflect on this; what impact has this had on you, what would help you in the future, by taking part in the Covid-19 Rapid Health Impact Assessment.
An ‘Order and Collect’ service will be available from some of our libraries soon and this week we are carrying out and agreeing risk assessments and making sure that signage for safe staff working is in place.
Understanding the impact that Covid-19 has had on local businesses and how they have responded during the lock down will provide hugely valuable data and insights to help us to build a stronger and more inclusive economy.
Please tell us about experiences in the survey below by 5th August.
Women of Steel
For many people, wearing a face covering is possible. There are some who are exempt from wearing one. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Please bear this in mind by not challenging people who are not able to wear a face covering.⠀⠀⠀
Exemptions:
- Children under the age of 11
- People unable to put on, wear or remove a face covering because of a physical or mental illness or impairment, or a disability
- If putting on, wearing or removing a face covering will cause you severe distress
- If you are travelling with or providing assistance to someone who relies on lip reading to communicate
- If you have a breathing condition and find wearing a face covering makes you feel breathless⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The NHS Test and Trace service will help:
- reduce the spread of Coronavirus in your community
- allow the gradual return to a more normal life
