Crookes and Upper Walkley TARA
Fortunately the TARA released Santa in time for him to deliver his presents on Christmas Eve
On Tuesday the 10th December at St Vincent’s Church, Crookes and Upper Walkley TARA held their Christmas Party and AGM. The Lord Mayor, Councillor Anne Murphy and a number of Sheffield City Council staff joined the TARA and local residents to celebrate the hard work and successes of the TARA over the last year. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to ‘let their hair down’ with bingo, a buffet, music and dancing. The event was a great success, everyone had a wonderful time and a new Committee were elected to lead on new and exciting projects over the coming year. Three cheers to the TARA and here is to another excellent year!

The Sheffield eLibrary is available 24/7 on your computer, smartphone and tablet. We offer something of appeal to all ages and interests, and is FREE to use for Sheffield Libraries members. You will just need to download our eLibrary provider RBDigital’s App from your preferred App store, and register using your library card number.
Using your mobile device simply go to the App store you normally use and search for RBDigital or point your mobile device to https://sheffield.rbdigitalglobal.com/ and you will find links to the App store you need.
All of the following great features are included in the Sheffield e-Library:
eMagazines
Hundreds of bestselling magazines to dip into, delve deep within a subject or explore new hobbies and interests. Titles include: New Scientist, Hello Magazine, The Economist and BBC Good Food. Once downloaded, eMagazines are yours to keep forever (or until you run out of memory on your device!).
People say this saves them £’s, and is a great reading experience especially on a tablet!
eBooks
Relax with hundreds of free to access eBooks. From old classics to the latest bestsellers, hop into history, delve into mystery and romp through a romance without paying for the content. eBooks automatically ‘return’ themselves after three weeks. Alternatively renew for a further few weeks. Either way, there is no risk of late return fines!
eAudiobooks
Sit back, relax and listen to free eAudiobooks. A great escape when doing housework or trapped in the car. All eAudiobooks are free to download so there is no need to pay costly subscriptions. eAudiobooks ‘return’ themselves after three weeks unless you renew, so there is no danger of accumulating fines. Better than Amazon apparently, and is FREE!
eComics
We have an exciting range of new comics available to read including popular Marvel titles such as Spiderman, X-Men and Guardians of the Galaxy. Great for teenagers of all ages! (Parents should note that some content is not aimed at younger children)
How to become a member of Sheffield Libraries
Becoming a member of Sheffield libraries is open to anyone who is resident or works in Sheffield. You can do so online here (or search online for ‘Sheffield Libraries’, or why not pop in to your local library where there’s lots going on for all ages!) and then collect your card at a library convenient to you. You’ll just need some photo ID, or utility bill with your address on it when you collect your card. You can then enter your card number into the RBDigital App when you create your account and away you go! Happy Free Reading!
