Advice for winter illnesses
Diarrhoea & Vomiting (norovirus) and flu like illnesses are common this time of year. However, it does seem that this has started earlier and at a greater rate than in previous years.
One of the best ways to protect against illnesses such as norovirus is by practicing good hygiene. This includes thorough hand washing with soap and warm water after using the toilet and before eating or preparing foods.
We advise people not to visit GP surgeries and hospitals with symptoms, however if you are are concerned you should contact NHS 111 or talk to their GP by phone.
If you or your child has had symptoms of norovirus, it is important to stay home from work or school until 48 hours after symptoms have cleared.
