Council Leader hails £50m flood resilience fund as a fantastic opportunity for Somerset

Leader Bill Revans has welcomed today’s news that Somerset Council will receive £50m from the Government to invest in flood resilience and prevention schemes.

The announcement from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), follows a visit made by Floods Minister Emma Hardy to Somerset in February during the major incident declared after Storm Chandra.

Mulberry Fund passes £76,000 milestone for Somerset communities

More than £76,000 has been invested in Somerset communities through a charitable fund established by global fashion brand Mulberry and managed by Somerset Community Foundation (SCF).

Founded in Chilcompton in 1971, Mulberry created the Mulberry Somerset Community Fund in 2021 to give back to the county where the business began.
