Somerset Council Leader Bill Revans has condemned recent attacks on faith buildings in Somerset and made it clear that hate has no home in the county.
Cllr Revans made the comments at Full Council in response to a question from Cllr Habib Farbahi which referenced acts of vandalism on the Mosque in Taunton and the Portuguese Church in Bridgwater.
Somerset Council has released the latest results from its annual recycling tracker, revealing a positive shift in keeping things local, with 5.4% more recycling being processed within Somerset, compared to the previous year.
The announcement coincides with Recycling Week 2025, running from 22 to 28 September, a national campaign led by Recycle Now.

By elections are due to be held in Dunster and Glastonbury for vacancies on Somerset Council. The Notices of Election have been published on the Council’s Current election notices and statements page. If the elections are contested, local voters will be going to the polls on 23 October.
Candidates’ nominations from prospective candidates for the Dunster division must be delivered no later than 4pm on 26 September 2025.
