A Met Office yellow weather warning for rain across Somerset comes into effect from 6am tomorrow (Saturday) through to 11.45pm on Sunday. A further yellow weather warning for wind across the South West comes into effect from 3pm on Saturday to 9pm on Sunday, which could affect parts of Somerset.
Heavy rain associated with Storm Bert may cause some travel disruption and flooding over the weekend. Our highway teams are on standby over the weekend to deal with any issues.
Somerset Council’s Severe Weather Emergency Provision is active in Somerset.
During this period of severe weather, the Council is seeking to provide emergency accommodation for rough sleepers to prevent harm or death due to the severe weather.

An improved 24-hour payment system is on the way for anyone wishing to pay for key Somerset Council services online or over the phone.
From 5 December, residents will be able to pay for the following services over the phone at any time of the day, 7 days a week using the new automated system.

Volunteers can join the Green Rangers on 27 November at Wilstock and Stockmoor Country Park near Bridgwater to remove tree guards on existing established trees and plan for a new orchard.
