Somerset Council and new partner Kiely Bros are launching a major programme of road repairs across the County’s network this month.
Road surface treatment specialists Kiely Bros were awarded a four-year contract from 1 April to carry out a wide range of services, including surface dressing.
There is exciting news for the South West’s booming aerospace sector as £236,000 of funding has been secured to create a Future Flight Innovation Zone (FFIZ) in Somerset and Devon.
The FFIZ will help to create a safe and environmentally friendly future for aviation and it will form part of a Future Aviation Test and Innovation Zone that is focussed around two key sites; iAero in Yeovil and Exeter Airport.

Work has begun on a game-changing green link between Taunton Railway Station and the town’s riverside.
The northern section of the Firepool Boulevard will provide a walking and cycling route from the recently revamped station, past the new Innovation Centre and connect Trenchard Way to Canal Road.

As the half-term holiday approaches, local organisations are collaborating to support children and young people and prevent concerns around violence in key town centre locations.
Young people and parents or guardians can visit a Hub whilst in town and find out more. It will offer advice, support and signposting for young people.
