We've joined forces with the Somerset Bus Partnership to encourage more people in the county to use the bus as part of our Bus It campaign. It’s not just about what you put in your fuel tank, it’s how much you have to spend on taxing, servicing and insuring your vehicle. Why not look at what you could be saving by occasionally leaving your car at home?
Thanks to Somerset's Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) and the Government's Help for Homes funding, there are cheap fares across Taunton and Somerset - £1 for any single journey in the Taunton zone, £2 for any single journey across Somerset. Plus, there are now evening buses linking key towns.
Alerting us to potholes or a host of other problems on the road is quick and easy - you can even track its progress after you’ve reported it.
Whether it's a problem with a street light, overgrown verge or a defected road, let us know so we can fix the issue.

Our team is resurfacing the ‘Wickes’ roundabout in Taunton next month.
The road will need to be closed between 8.15pm and 6am each night from Monday 4 September to Friday 15 September so that the work can be completed. The road will remain open on weekends.
This is a busy roundabout in the town and delays will be inevitable, but the work has been scheduled overnight to minimise disruption as much as possible.
The £30 Million ADEPT Live Labs 2 Programme is now in the delivery stage and we are at the centre of it after successfully netting funding along with partner authorities Hampshire County Council and Cornwall Council (the Wessex Partnership).
Funded by the Department for Transport (DfT), the three-year programme involves schemes that address the long-term decarbonisation of highways infrastructure across local roads.

We are working with local organisations to support and promote Watchet after the community was hit by the loss of the B3191 Cleeve Hill road due to cliff erosion.
A decision was taken to close the road indefinitely in February 2023. This was due to safety concerns following the results of a geotechnical survey which looked at serious and significant cliff erosion close to the road. Detailed inspections revealed further movement is inevitable with the conclusion that it will be impossible to safely reopen the road without major intervention.
We are working with the Watchet Task Force, the town’s Visitor Centre, the community-run Onion Collective and local businesses to support the local economy and residents.
