Stop loan sharks week 2024 - no blame lies with you

Help us stop loan sharks

🦈 Loan sharks trap and manipulate their borrowers, making them think it is their fault they are in this situation.

‼️ The truth is the illegal lender is at fault. No borrower should feel any blame or shame for being entrapped by a loan shark. Stop Loan Sharks England will help and support anyone in the grasp of a loan shark.

✅ We are supporting Stop Loan Sharks Week 2024 and the No Blame, No Shame message.

If you need help or support with a loan shark, contact the Stop Loan Sharks team today.

Visit our Supporting Sandwell website if you are struggling for money, want help managing your bills or looking for other help and support.

Street racers beware - 4 kendrick way street racers taken to court

Street racers beware!

✅ We’ve successfully now taken four drivers to court for breaching the Black Country-wide street racing injunction in Kenrick Way, West Bromwich – all four received a suspended prison sentence.

🚘💨 The latest street racing court case involved a driver who raced another vehicle and drove at a speed of around 80mph in March. As well as the suspended prison sentence, the driver has to pay more than £3,000 in court costs.

🚨 And Sandwell Police caught and arrested another street racer in Kenrick Way last Saturday night. Police are also now informing drivers’ insurers of street racing offences.

🤝 We’ll continue to work closely with Sandwell Police and other councils to tackle dangerous and anti-social street racing.

You can report hate crime to us - Third party reporting centres

Four new organisations have recently joined the Sandwell Hate Crime Third Party Reporting Centre Network with over 40 centres now in operation.

The centres are spaces in the local community where people can report a hate crime, if they do not wish to directly report this to the police, with the centres then passing the information onto the police themselves.

Staff at Abrahamic Foundation and West Smethwick Park Pavilion, both in Smethwick, Bangladeshi Women’s Association in Tipton and South Staffs Water Community Hub in Wednesbury have received training and can now forward reports of hate crime on behalf of victims to the police.

The centres can also help victims of hate crime in Sandwell to access victim support services dedicated to hate crime.
