Heritage talk with Dr Mike Hodder
Are you coming for a walk through Sandwell Valley tomorrow (Saturday 20 January)?
Why don't you pause at the Visitor Centre and join us for Dr Mike Hodder's illustrated talk about the archaeology and history of Sandwell Priory and its relationship to other parts of medieval West Bromwich? Coffee and tea will be provided by our Tea Rooms. We will keep the museum open for you too.
The heritage talk will be held from 11am to 12.30pm, you can find out more at Visit Sandwell.
Tickets cost £5 and can purchased via the TicketSource website.
Sandwell Council will mark Holocaust Memorial Day with a special service on Sunday 28 January to be held from 11am to 12 noon in the Memorial Gardens at Highfields House, High Street, West Bromwich.
The service is open to everyone, and attendees are requested to arrive at Highfields House (Sandwell Register Office) by 10.40am. Light refreshments will be served afterwards.
Former Mayor of Sandwell, Dr Ann Jaron, will speak at this year’s service, talking about her grandfather, Professor Marian Gieszczykiewicz.

Hate crimes can have devastating effects and harms not just victims, but loved ones and entire communities too.
It’s so important that we all do what we can to help tackle hate crimes whether they directly affect you or not.
You can report hate crimes online, by phone or at a network of third party reporting centres across Sandwell which are places within the community where you can report a hate crime.
We all have a part to play. Learn what a hate crime is and what you can do if you witness one. Together we can show that there is no place for hate in Sandwell.
