 Garden waste collections
Our crews will pop round during weeks beginning 13 and 20 March to collect garden waste from the winter months. All garden waste, including any chopped up Christmas trees, must be inside your bin with the lid closed.
From 13 March, please put out your garden waste bin on your usual bin collection day.
If your garden waste bin is not collected week beginning 13 March, please put out your bin on your usual bin day week beginning 20 March.
To continue receiving garden waste collections from Monday 27 March 2023 onwards, please subscribe and pay on the council's website or call 0121 368 1177 (weekdays 8am-5.30pm).
Bin collections affected by bad weather
Due to the snowy and icy weather conditions, waste and recycling collections were suspended yesterday (Thursday) and today (Friday).
The snow and ice on pavements and roads meant bin crews could not empty your bins safely.
If your bins were due to be emptied yesterday or today, please bring your bins in and place them back out for collection on your usual bin day next week.
If you cannot fit all rubbish inside your grey bin next week, an extra bag will be collected alongside your bin.
Flatten and crush recycling items to fit as much as possible in your blue lid bin. If you have any extra recycling, please put it inside a clear bag next to your bin.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during these winter weather conditions.

Still time to have your say on new Local Plan
The council is drawing up a new Local Plan for Sandwell.
This sets out planning policies and proposals to help guide future development. It will also identify land for future housing and employment needs up to 2041.
The first step is for the council to identify what the main issues might be for Sandwell regarding the future use and development of land.
Anyone can give their views on potential options for dealing with these issues. You can also suggest potential sites for future development.
The consultation runs until 5pm on Monday 20 March and you can find more information and have your say on the Sandwell Local Plan webpage.
