Sandwell Remembers

This November, people from all faiths, cultures and backgrounds will once again unite at remembrance events across Sandwell to honour those who died in service for our country.

Remembrance Sunday will be marked across Sandwell with services and parades on Sunday 13 November. They will take place at:

📍Great Barr: St Margaret's Church, Chapel Lane

📍Oldbury: Oldbury Civic Square, Halesowen Street/Church Street

📍Rowley Regis: Rowley Regis Crematorium, Powke Lane

📍Smethwick: Smethwick Council House, High Street

📍Tipton: Victoria Park, Victoria Road

📍Wednesbury: Memorial Gardens, Walsall Street

📍West Bromwich: Dartmouth Park, Lloyd Street

These events are organised by the Royal British legion and community groups, with support from Sandwell Council. Parades will be followed by services, with the two-minute silence by war memorials at 11am.

There will also be a service in Oldbury Civic Square on Armistice Day, Friday 11 November.

Safer 6 is back for 2022

This year's Safer 6 community safety campaign

👏👏👏Big thanks to junior PCSOs from St Philip's Catholic Primary School who joined us to launch the borough-wide Safer 6 community safety campaign.

Safer 6 runs for six weeks across our six towns, promoting safety, crime prevention and healthy living to people of all ages. Each town has a focus week – the first week has focused on Smethwick.

The Mayor of Sandwell Councillor Richard Jones officially launched the campaign at an information roadshow outside Asda Cape Hill with councillors and partner organisations including Sandwell Police and West Midlands Fire Service.

Follow campaign updates on Twitter using the #Safer6 and #SaferSandwell hashtags. Check out what's coming up on our Safer 6 activities webpage.
