Lightwoods House

Doesn't Lightwoods House look amazing?Β

On Monday this week, we marked International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia with a beautiful display at Lightwoods House. We also proudly flew the rainbow flag at Sandwell Council House.

According to a YouGov poll, four in five anti-LGBT hate crimes and incidents go unreported, particularly amongst younger people.

We stand together with Sandwell Police against any form of hate crime towards our staff, residents and communities. When you report hate crime, you become part of the movement to stop it.

If you or anyone you know has experienced a hate crime, you can report it in lots of ways.

Reporting nuisance bikes

🚫🏍️ Off-road motorbikes being used illegally can cause a real nuisance

With Sandwell Police, we will continue to target off-road motorbikes where people are causing anti-social behaviour and putting themselves and others at risk.

People riding motorbikes illegally face arrest and having their bikes seized.

Riding motorbikes in public open spaces, or without a private land owner’s permission, can result in prosecution.

You can report motorbike nuisance to Crimestoppers anonymously, the police or the council.

Nuisance motorbikes

🚨 For three years, West Bromwich town centre has been covered by a public spaces protection order (PSPO) that gives the police and authorised council officers powers to hand out on-the-spot £100 fines for harassment, threats of violence, verbal abuse and begging, as well as parking on pavements.

πŸ”Ž Now it’s time to review the order, and we want your views as we look to renew the PSPO.

βœ‹Β Have your say in our online consultation before 16 July 2021. Tell us what you think.
