Safer 6 Modern Slavery Awareness Week

Sandwell Council and partner agencies are taking a stand to raise awareness of modern slavery and human trafficking as part of the Safer 6 campaign: Modern Slavery Awareness Week 2020 (19 October - 25 October).

The awareness week has been timed to follow Anti-Slavery Day (Sunday 18 October).

The council is working with an organisation called Transforming Communities Together, to offer free online training on modern day slavery on Wednesday 25 November 2pm-4pm, for anyone who wants to learn more about the signs and indicators and how they can report it.

Councillor Chris Tranter sadly passed away last week.

Councillor Tranter had represented the Rowley ward since being elected in May 2010 and will be greatly missed.

We would like to express our condolences to his family at this very sad time and let them know we’re thinking of them.
