FACE COVERING

Wearing a face covering keeps others safe

Make sure your face covering covers your mouth AND your nose.

It is compulsory to wear a face covering or face mask in all shops and supermarkets, as well as on all public transport (buses, trains and the Metro).

Face coverings must also be worn in banks, building societies and post offices, places of worship, community centres, hair salons, tattoo parlours, funeral homes, crematoria and visitor attractions. You can see a full list of where you are required to wear a face covering on the government website.

Pub covid-19 reminder

Pubs, bars and restaurants in Sandwell must keep their customers safe and limit the spread of Covid-19.

Make sure you:

  • Record all customers’ details – so they can be contacted in case of an outbreak
  • Ensure customers only socialise in groups of up to two households (including support bubbles) indoors and outdoors, or up to six people from different households when outdoors
  • Encourage regular handwashing and good hygiene
  • Notify the council if two or more staff test positive for Covid-19.

Town fund

Residents and businesses in Sandwell are being urged to have their say on what improvements they would like to see as part of the Government’s Towns Fund investment in Sandwell.

There will be up to £25 million available per town selected to develop innovative regeneration plans.

Last year, the Government announced that 101 towns would benefit from the Towns Fund deal - including West Bromwich, Rowley Regis and Smethwick - in Sandwell.

This is a really exciting opportunity to bring investment into Sandwell, we want to hear from as many people as possible.

You have until Tuesday 25 August to complete the survey and help shape your town’s future.

This will be followed by a further phase two survey expected in September.
