Please follow coronavirus (Covid-19) advice

We have been alerted to a significant rise in the number of people testing positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) in Smethwick.

We're issuing an urgent warning to people to act now to combat this.

People everywhere must follow the rules – keep your distance from others. Wear a face covering when on public transport or when shopping to reduce the spread of the virus and wash your hands regularly.

And if you have symptoms, you must get tested and you and everyone in your household must self-isolate.

We’re drawing up ambitious plans to regenerate three town areas in Sandwell

Rowley Regis, Smethwick and West Bromwich were selected to bid for grants of up to £25 million from the Government’s Towns Fund scheme and we are now working up comprehensive bids to secure some of the money available.

Blind and partially sighted people in Sandwell need your help

Sandwell Visually Impaired, is calling for your help to make masks for their members. This will form part of an exciting new project to enable blind and partially sighted people to regain their confidence and start to get out and about.

Parents and carers - fill in this survey Sustrans, the walking and cycling charity, and Sandwell Council are interested in identifying how children and their parents/guardians travel to and from school so we can improve safety and sustainability around transport. The deadline is midnight this Sunday 19 July.
