Periods don’t stop for pandemics

Sandwell Council is appealing for period products to give out to women struggling to get supplies during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The council was already addressing period poverty in the borough before the coronavirus crisis hit, with the #GirlCodeSandwell, in partnership with schools and the NHS, providing free sanitary products.
Now there is an urgent need to make them available to women and girls dealing with self-isolation because of COVID-19.

If you would like to help with this or anything please visit the Coronavirus can you help webpage

Callind Sandwell Business

Can you help with PPE?

We’re doing all we can to keep our residents and care teams safe during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. But we need the equipment to protect our staff while they go about their jobs caring for people, helping the vulnerable and delivering supplies to the people most in need.

Some council services also need paper overalls and hand sanitiser for people who are doing deliveries and working on various sites throughout the day.

Anyone who can donate should fill in the form for businesses

Changes to how you register a death

Due to a change in the law during the current coronavirus pandemic, all death registrations now need to be completed by telephone on 0121 368 1188.

If a death has occurred in Sandwell it must be registered by Sandwell Register Office within five days from when it occurred. However, if the Coroner is involved this period may be extended.
