Salford Everywhere: A Living Monument to the People of Salford
A video portrait of Salfordians, projected as giants moving across its buildings. Weaving together people and place, the ‘living portrait’ will feature local heroes and community groups from across the city.
This ambitious public artwork will be created by award winning artist Matthew Rosier and will culminate in a two-day city gathering at Peel Park in Autumn.
The finale will see the film projected onto buildings, forming a monumental living portrait that will light up the city alongside a bespoke live mix created by Salford based composer and DJ AFRODEUTSCHE, featuring Salford's rich musical heritage remixed and reworked into a contemporary and celebratory finale score.

‘Dirty Old Town’ has had its time as Salford’s song; it’s time to write the city’s new anthem!
Salford-based creative producers From The Other present a new body of music that reflects life in the city in 2026, inviting music producer and songwriter, Charlie Deakin-Davies, to bring together a range of collaborators to create new songs that celebrate the character of Salford.
Young songwriters, musicians and performers from Salford Youth Zone and members of Age Friendly Salford will be part of the songwriting process, sharing their stories and memories to inform the final record.
