Open Mic Night: Halloween Special on Sunday 2 November at 5pm to 7pm at the Garden House, Clifton Park, S65 2AA. Free to attend. Brought to you by Children's Capital of Culture and Rotherham Music this event will be a vibrant celebration of identity and youth voice, offering a welcoming stage for singers, musicians, poets, and spoken word artists aged 14 to 25. Land of Lights on selected dates from Saturday 8 November to Saturday 31 January 2026 at Gulliver’s Valley, Mansfield Road, S26 5QW. Cast Offs Youth Drama Performance on Saturday 15 November at Rotherham Civic Theatre, Catherine Street, S65 1EB. Children’s Capital of Culture presents a bold, brand-new theatre piece, created and performed by young people in collaboration with Chol Theatre and Arts. Find out more here.

Rotherham Christmas Lights' Switch-on on Saturday 15 November at 3pm to 6pm in Rotherham Town Centre. Brought to you by Rotherham Council the Christmas Lights' Switch-on returns to Rotherham! Big House | Short Films: An Interactive Film Festival on Saturday 15 November at 6pm to 9pm at Wentworth Woodhouse. Wentworth Woodhouse presents young filmmakers from South Yorkshire who will challenge stereotypes and share personal takes on what heritage means today at this one-day film festival. The Rotherham Opera on Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 November at the Magna Science Adventure Centre, Magna Way, S60 1FD. Rotherham Music presents Rotherham's first ever opera in partnership with the Royal Ballet and Opera (RBO), in what will be the UK’s largest community opera! Inspired by Mozart’s ‘The Magic Flute’, the spectacular Tales Untapped will feature storylines, songs, choreography, sets and performances co-created with over 2,000 of our borough’s children and young people. Bussing Out Exhibition during November at the Riverside Gallery, Riverside House, Rotherham. Free to attend. Brought to you by the University of Bradford, uncover hidden local histories in this acclaimed and immersive installation, created by the University of Bradford and now touring across the country. The Christmas Lights’ Switch-On returns to Rotherham on Saturday 15 November, offering free family fun from 3pm to 6pm throughout the town centre.
This annual event brought to you by Rotherham Council offers an exciting line up of entertainment and activities to welcome the festive season to the borough, bringing cheer and sparkle with a programme of live music, circus performances, street theatre, gift market, creative workshops and more!
Along Effingham Street you will find a Gift Market with stalls offering a host of treats and there will be a selection of town centre businesses staying open late for the celebrations. The anticipation will grow as we countdown to the all-important lights' switch-on at 6pm by the Mayor of Rotherham, Councillor Rukhsana Ismail.

 Remembrance Parade
Rotherham will come together to remember its fallen service members from past and recent conflicts on Sunday 9 November for Remembrance Sunday. This year’s event will start at 10:35am and once again be held within Clifton Park.

Armistice Day
The Mayor of Rotherham, Councillor Rukhsana Ismail, will attend the service on Tuesday 11 November at All Saints’ Square in Rotherham and mark the two-minute silence on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. A short ceremony will take place at 10:55am. Members of the public are invited to attend this short ceremony and join the two-minute silence.
