It's Grimm up north!

grimm 3

It's a very exciting day in Rotherham Town Centre as one of our gems, the amazing Grimm & Co. have officially opened their doors to the public!

The team have been working really hard behind the scenes to create this magical new space in the former Talbot Lane Church on Ship Hill and it really is a sight to behold!

Step into the fairy tale world through the arched red doors to the Apothecary to the magical that's only visible to humans in Rotherham! It is filled with quirky products for magical beings and mortals such as wands, potions & elixirs, and a fine collection of books.

Step a little further and you will find the Feastery, a story-themed cafe serving delicious homemade dishes (with a magical theme of course), drinks and snacks. Plus there's 50% off in the cafe until Tuesday (9 April).

If you are lucky, you might spot secret hidden doors that take you on a further journey of awe and wonder. Visitors to a workshop can pass the Source of Creativity, tip-toeing through Graham’s study and climbing the giant’s bookcase into Grizelda’s Trove of Twists, Tales and Trinkets.

At its heart, Grimm & Co is a registered literacy charity with a core purpose of changing lives one story at a time by introducing children, young people and families to discover creativity and imagination through workshops, learning activities and exciting projects which spark a motivation to write.

We're proud to say it's definitely 'Grimm' up north!

Farrah the Fox joins Roots Street Carnival

fox

Farrah the Fox will be coming to Rotherham town centre this month as part of Roots - Rotherham Street Carnival.

This 5m tall puppet (taller than a double decker bus!) comes on her very own scooter, can dance, wave and is known to shake her tail. Being welcomed by Rotherham's host puppet Reign, they will both make their way from Rotherham Minster at 1pm round to All Saints' Square.

As well as the fantastic parade, there will be music performances all day in All Saints' Square and some fantastic workshops in Minster Gardens and Minster Yard. Some of the workshops will be running up to the parade setting off, so you will be able to come along and make your very own creation to welcome Farrah and Reign to the town centre.

The event takes place on Saturday 13th April, from 11am to 4pm.

Visit the RMBC Events Facebook page for more details here.
